Niels Blij is a veteran of the Royal Netherlands Army, where they specialized in long-range reconnaissance and intelligence operations during three consecutive deployments in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan from 2007 to 2009. They were awarded the Combat Action Badge for valor under fire and gained invaluable tactical expertise that informs their current role as the Head of Defence Strategy & Relations at Avy.
