Petra Virjonen

Petra Virjonen has a diverse work experience spanning several research and data science roles. Petra is currently a Visiting Researcher at the University of Parma since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Researcher at the University of Turku, starting in November 2021. Petra also held the positions of Project Researcher, Doctoral Student, and Project Researcher at the same university between 2017 and 2021. In 2020, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Awake.AI. Before that, they were a Research Scientist at Turku University of Applied Sciences from 2016 to 2019. Petra'searly career includes roles as a Research Scientist and Assistant Research Scientist at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health from 2002 to 2015.

Petra Virjonen's education history begins in 1998 when they attended the University of Turku. Petra completed their Master's degree in Physics in 2003. Following this, Petra pursued further education and enrolled at the University of Turku from 2019 to 2021, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science. Additionally, from 2021 to 2023, Petra engaged in Specialization Studies for the Maritime Sector at the University of Turku.
