Mary McKenna, MBE, is an accomplished expert advisor at the European Commission, contributing to the evaluation of innovation funding applications through various juries, including Horizon Europe. As a co-founder of AwakenHub, a community for female founders in Ireland, McKenna actively supports women's entrepreneurship. Recognized as Europe's Female Angel Investor of the Year 2023 by BAND, McKenna also serves as an entrepreneurship expert at the University of Oxford's Said Business School and mentors aspiring entrepreneurs at the Imperial Venture Mentoring Service. With advisory roles at SXSW and Placecube, and directorships at Mind Of My Own Ltd and the Millennium Forum Theatre & Conference Centre, McKenna has a lengthy history of fostering innovation and social impact. McKenna holds a BA (Hons) in Business Economics from Lancaster University.
