Richard de Nys has a long history of working in the tech industry. Richard began their career in 2000 as the Founder + Managing Director of Machinas, a full-service web agency with offices in Amsterdam and Barcelona. During their tenure, the business experienced 5 years of steady growth with clients in 9 countries. In 2006, they took on the role of Executive Producer, Interactive at Lowe and Partners Worldwide. In 2009, they founded Tectonic Digital, a Sydney-based independent digital technology company that provided design and development services for the likes of Google, NICTA, Westpac and Dell. In 2013, they founded Award Force, an award-winning SaaS for leading organisers of awards, grants, scholarships and pitch competitions to manage submission and assessment online. In 2019, they founded Creative Force, a European SaaS company with an international team of 16 nationalities, speaking 15 languages, living in 30 cities across 18 countries. Finally, in 2020, they founded Good Grants, which empowers grantmakers with grant-specific tools to manage applications online, make great funding decisions and power positive results in society.
Richard de Nys attended Island School from 1981 to 1988. Richard then attended RMIT University from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained a BA Hon Grade 1 in Industrial Design.
