Sean Anthonisz Ph.D., Caia

Sean Anthonisz, PhD, CAIA has a diverse and extensive work experience in the finance industry. Sean is currently employed at Aware Super as a Portfolio Manager - Investment Risk, a role they began in July 2023. From 2017 to 2023, Sean worked at Mine Super, where they held two positions. Sean first served as a Senior Quantitative Analyst - Asset Allocation from February 2017 to April 2020. Subsequently, they were promoted to Head of Investment Strategy, a role they held from April 2020 to July 2023. Prior to their time at Mine Super, Sean worked at The University of Sydney Business School. Sean served as a Resident Practitioner in Finance from July 2015 to December 2018 and again from January 2022 to December 2022. Additionally, they held the position of Co-Head of Discipline (Finance) from January 2019 to December 2021.

Sean Anthonisz obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pure and Applied Mathematics with Honors from the University of Sydney from 1988 to 1992. Sean then pursued a Ph.D. in Applied Finance at Macquarie University from 2008 to 2011. In addition, Sean undertook doctoral courses in Finance at The Australian National University from 2007 to 2009. Sean also holds certifications from the CAIA Association, including the CAIA Charterholder obtained in March 2006, and the UniFi by CAIA™ Private Debt Microcredential obtained in April 2023.
