Portfolio Manager - Retirement Strategy at Aware Super

Shang Wu has a diverse work experience in the field of retirement and population aging research. From 2017 onwards, Shang has been working as an Associate Portfolio Manager for Aware Super, focusing on retirement strategy. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2017, Shang worked as a Senior Research Associate at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) at UNSW Australia. In this role, Shang conducted research on retirement income and financial products, with a particular interest in the retirement financial decisions of older households and pension reforms in China. Shang also has teaching experience, having worked as a Casual Academic at UNSW Australia from 2013 to 2016, teaching subjects such as econometrics, superannuation, and retirement planning. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2013, Shang worked as a Research Assistant and Casual Tutor at the University of Technology, Sydney. Overall, Shang's work experience reflects expertise in retirement and population aging research, as well as a strong background in teaching and academic development.

Shang Wu's education history begins in 2006, when they enrolled at Macquarie University. From 2006 to 2010, Shang Wu pursued a Bachelor of Applied Finance with Bachelor of Commerce-Actuarial Studies degree, with a focus on applied finance and actuarial science. After completing this undergraduate program, Shang Wu attended the University of Sydney from 2010 to 2011, where they obtained a Master's degree in accounting. In 2012, they briefly attended the University of Technology Sydney, completing a Bachelor of Business in Finance (Honours). Finally, from 2013 to 2017, Shang Wu pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at UNSW in the field of Risk and Actuarial Studies.
