Tina Fung (She/Her)

Tina Fung has diverse work experience in the field of design, with a focus on service design, speculative design, and design futuring. Tina is currently working as a Senior Service Designer at Aware Super, starting in 2022. Prior to this, Tina served as the Organiser of the Sydney Chapter for Speculative Futures Sydney from 2020 onwards, where they facilitated a community interested in speculative design and its various approaches.

Tina also worked as a Tutor at the University of Technology Sydney, fulfilling roles such as Tutor for Design Futuring and Tutor for Bachelor of Design in Product Design (Service Design). In these positions, they guided students in understanding and implementing design concepts such as design fiction, speculative design, and narrative forecasting.

As a Service Designer (Contract) at the Australian Electoral Commission from 2021 to 2022, Tina was involved in a significant election systems modernization program, conducting user research and advocating for the needs of citizens and partners.

From 2018 to 2022, Tina had various roles at Meld Studios, including a sabbatical leave and a Service Designer position. At Meld Studios, they collaborated with service organizations to better understand and meet the needs of their users.

Additionally, Tina has served as a Panel of Judges for Primer 2020 conference speaker's applications, contributed to the Sydney Design Festival as a Creator and Facilitator, and worked as a Guest Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney.

Before their current positions, Tina had founded and worked as a designer at Luna Tree from 2015 to 2018, and also had a role as a UXDi Instructional Associate at General Assembly in 2017. In this role, they guided students towards apprenticeships and entry-level UX roles while fostering a supportive learning community.

Overall, Tina Fung has extensive experience in service design, speculative design, and related areas, showcasing their expertise and passion for exploring and shaping future possibilities through design thinking and creativity.

Tina Fung attended UNSW from 2012 to 2016. During that time, they pursued a Bachelor of Design degree with a specialization in Speculative & Critical Design and Graphics Media at the UNSW Art & Design school.
