AwAwDe stands for Awesome Awesome Designs. It is a young design firm based in Toronto, Canada, founded by Fan Zhang in 2015. Prior to starting her own practice, Fan had worked in various internationally known architecture offices such as HWKN (New York), BIG (Copenhagen), MAD (Beijing), and B+H (Toronto). She was involved in developing and realizing numerous award winning projects across the globe. Her portfolio ranges from single-family housing to large institutional complexes. 
 
AwAwDe started in the era of “elite architecture”, in which architecture has gradually become a service offered to the elite and the authorities. While the mainstream architectural magazines are filled with the next state-of-the-art buildings, the general population is left living in conditions lagged 30 years behind. This trend has created two major misconceptions: first, "design is to beautify. It is good but not necessary;" second, "design comes hand in hand with hiked up budget.” 
 
AwAwDe defies the “elite architecture” culture and is ready to correct the wrongs. We believe design is NOT about prettying things up, but about making people’s lives better. We believe great designs do NOT come with great costs. We believe awesome designs should be available to everyone.
