Creating mindful and unique children's books. Celebrating creativity and uniqueness in every story.

Reading some of the children's books available today I am often frustrated with the quality. Either the content treats the child with almost no respect to their intellect and/or uses illustrations which are loud, fast and tasteless.

Following some turbulent times I had an opportunity to use some of my mum's art to create a very special book. I aimed to complement the unique hand-drawn illustrations with text which respects the child by not assuming the author has complete insight into their emotional world.

The story is written in a non-directive way without placing any demands on the child reader. Children are free to observe the story and digest the information at their own pace without being told 'Try this! ' or 'Do you ever feel like this? '
The story does not make assumptions about the reader's own worries and feelings, it simply offers an insight into another child's thought process and worries and introduces a possible way of overcoming a difficult situation.
