Tony Deifell is the co-founder and CEO of AwesomeBox, a company that allows users to send personalized gifts to their loved ones. Prior to founding AwesomeBox, Tony worked as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Eric Schmidt's VC firm, Innovation Endeavors. There, they used design-thinking to identify and evaluate venture ideas. Tony also worked as a principal, futurist, and strategy consultant at Q Media Innovation Labs, where they focused on how media, technology, and business shape culture. Tony has also authored a book on the future of journalism, titled THE BIG THAW - CHARTING A NEW FUTURE FOR JOURNALISM. In addition to their work in the private sector, Tony has also given speeches on the future of journalism at Stanford's Innovation Journalism Program, UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism, Visual Journalism Bootcamp, and Ashoka's Future Forum. Tony has also conducted leadership trainings for Google, Banana Republic, The Gap Inc., Kellogg Foundation, Echoing Green Foundation, Storify, UCLA, and more.
Tony Deifell earned their MBA in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from Harvard Business School. Tony also holds a National Leadership Fellowship from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation in Organizational Leadership. Tony's undergraduate degree is in Socio-cultural Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
