Mark Wiebe

Mark Wiebe is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the software development and visual effects industries. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at AWS Thinkbox since December 2014, Mark previously held the position of Software Architect at Continuum Analytics from June 2012 to December 2014, and was the Director of R&D at Frantic Films from July 2001 to May 2008. In the role at Frantic Films, Mark was instrumental in guiding the strategic direction and development processes of the R&D department, contributing significantly to the development, commercialization, and support of VFX software products such as Deadline, Krakatoa, Awake, and Flood:Surf. Mark earned a B.Sc. Hons in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Manitoba, followed by further education at The University of British Columbia from 2008 to 2010.
