Xavier Renard

Xavier Renard is an experienced researcher in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning, currently serving as an Associate Research Scientist at Sorbonne University since 2022, where Xavier co-founded and co-leads the Trustworthy and Responsible Artificial Intelligence Lab (TRAIL). Prior experience includes roles as an R&D Engineer at E2i Consultores and ArcelorMittal, focusing on machine learning and process simulation for industrial optimization and signal/image processing. Xavier also held positions as an AI Research Scientist Lead and AI Research Scientist at AXA, developing AI models for natural catastrophe risk assessment and enhancing the interpretability and trustworthiness of large language models. Xavier completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on artificial intelligence at Sorbonne University from 2014 to 2017, and holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Polytech Nancy, earned in 2010.
