Von Maltzahn is also the Founding CEO, Chief Innovation Officer, and Board Member of Indigo since 2013, a company that improves sustainable agriculture through natural microbiology and digital technologies. Furthermore, they are a Co-Founder and Board Member of Sana Biotechnology and Cobalt Biomedicine since 2018 and 2016 respectively. Geoffrey von Maltzahn completed their education in a consistent field. Geoffrey began their academic journey at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1999, where they received their Bachelor of Science (SB) degree in Chemical Engineering in 2003. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego from 2003 to 2005.
