Nelson Granja has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Nelson began their career as a Pre Sales Engineer Intern at Telefonica Movistar in 2009. Nelson then worked as a Project Engineer at Consorcio Gratol, where they designed engineering solutions and developed innovative processes using technology tools.
In 2011, Granja joined MFAdvisors - Banco Solidario as a Technology Analyst, where they managed the migration to the cloud, implemented a knowledge base, and oversaw the implementation of a Task Management System.
In 2013, they became a Technology and Innovation Analyst Intern at Milaana, where they planned and researched technology tools and contributed to a crowdfunding campaign.
Granja's work experience also includes roles at IKIAM Amazon University, where they served as an Innovation Director, leading the university's innovation strategy and implementing digital fabrication and urban innovation laboratories. Nelson also worked as a Technology and Innovation Specialist and Lecturer, focusing on the innovation and entrepreneurship strategy and teaching Design Thinking.
Nelson later joined Future of Work Lab as a Co-Founding Team member and Product Manager, launching a professional accelerator program and building a network of companies and stakeholders.
Granja then worked at The Loop as a Country Manager, managing social innovation development programs and consulting for financial institutions. Nelson also worked as an Innovation Consultant at Axialent, designing and facilitating innovation-related workshops and contributing to the digitization of services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At iD2R.co, Granja served as a Partner and Innovation Strategist, working with corporations such as FOX LATAM, OXXO, and Walmart to implement digital transformation and innovation management programs. Nelson focused on connecting Agile and Lean Startup methodologies for outcome-oriented, innovation-minded software development teams.
Currently, Granja is working at Axialent as the Head of Development of Digital Solutions, leading the development of a portfolio of digital solutions that integrate cohort-based courses, self-learning programs, mentoring, and consulting services to facilitate cultural transformation across large organizations. Nelson is also responsible for leading the development of a new portfolio of programs as a Product Program Manager to scale culture transformation programs.
In addition to their work at these companies, Nelson Granja is a Mentor at Collective Academy, providing guidance and support to individuals.
Nelson Granja has a diverse education history. Nelson obtained a Master's degree in Technology and Innovation Management from The University of Queensland, specializing in Business and Innovation, from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed the Global Competitiveness Leadership Program at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador in 2010, where they studied Economy, Leadership, and Politics.
Nelson'sundergraduate degree is in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, which they earned from Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas - ESPE between 2005 and 2010. Additionally, in 2008, Nelson participated in a Study Abroad program at Tecnológico de Monterrey, focusing on Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
In terms of additional certifications, Nelson acquired a certificate in Story Skills from Akimbo in May 2021. In June 2014, they completed the Lean Startup Machine certification offered by Conquito. Lastly, in May 2017, they became a Sprint Master Mentor through the program offered by Design Sprint School.
