Islam Shehata

Islam Shehata has a diverse and extensive work experience in software engineering and development. Islam'smost recent position was as a Developer Experience Engineer at Axiom, where they started in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Backend Engineer at Börse Stuttgart Digital Exchange (BSDEX) GmbH from January 2022 to April 2022. From January 2020 to January 2022, Islam served as a Cloud Engineer at FRIDAY Versicherung and also worked as a Software Engineer (Backend Focus) from April 2019 to January 2020.

Islam has also worked as a Python Software Engineer at GASTROFIX GmbH from September 2018 to April 2019, where they made significant contributions such as configuring CI pipelines, enabling manual deployment buttons, and introducing e2e tests.

Before GASTROFIX GmbH, Islam worked as a Fullstack Software Engineer at Cloudinn from June 2016 to August 2018. In this role, they were responsible for migrating the infrastructure and implementing a web server in Go.

In 2016, Islam founded Yadawe Platform, a platform for artisans. Islam built the backend application in Rails and the frontend in Angular, ensuring web app security with HTTPS.

Additionally, Islam gained valuable experience during their time in the Egyptian Military Service as a Software Engineer, where they focused on optimizing search queries, implementing authentication systems, and automating backup processes.

Islam has also worked remotely as a Backend Developer for NowYouSpeak.org and as a Software Developer for the GNOME Project. In both roles, they contributed to backend development and implemented designs.

Islam Shehata attended Sohag Language School from 1997 to 2008, where they completed their High School/Secondary Diploma program. From 2010 to 2014, Shehata pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Sohag University. In 2012, they also attended the British Council in Cairo and obtained an Upper Intermediate level in English. Shehata also has a certification in Google Summer Of Code 2013.
