Gavin D'Elia

Gavin D'Elia serves as the Global Head of Pharma at Axiom Space, where efforts focus on developing new economies in space to enhance life both on and off the planet. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Associate in Business Operations and Portfolio Strategy at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., where strategies were developed to advance business verticals within the rare disease sector. As the Creator and Founder of Bucky Connects, a digital platform for virtual internships, Gavin addressed pandemic-related challenges. Previous positions also include work as an Assistant Researcher at UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering, where research spanned agricultural bacterial communities and regenerative hydrogels, and as an Analyst at QOL Medical LLC, where targeted business development strategies were honed. In addition, a role as Community Liaison in the US Congress involved coordinating the Space Advisory Committee and emergency preparations. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego and a certification in Biotechnology from the University of Florida.
