EVA Mechanical Engineer at Axiom Space

Tom Nan is an experienced mechanical engineer currently serving as an EVA Mechanical Engineer at Axiom Space since June 2022, where contributions include the development of lunar and low Earth orbit tools for NASA as part of the AxEVA Space Suits Team. Previous roles at Axiom Space included Station Mechanical Engineer, focusing on subsystem packaging and the development of Orbital Replacement Units (ORUs). Prior to this, Tom Nan completed a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, specializing in in-situ resource utilization for Mars missions and leading the design of an automated drilling platform. Additional experience includes an engineering internship at Kent, where finite-element analysis was applied to structural failures on a semi-submersible platform, and various research assistant positions during undergraduate studies, focusing on biomechanical testing and optical diagnostics. Tom Nan holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
