Yi Sun

Yi Sun has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. They began their career as a Quantitative Analyst Intern at D. E. Shaw & Co. in 2007. They then worked as an Instructor at the Math Olympiad Program from 2007 to 2018. In 2010, Yi Sun served as a Research Intern at Google Research. They also worked as a Trading Intern at Jane Street Capital in 2011. From 2016 to 2019, they held the position of Simons Fellow at Columbia University in the City of New York. They went on to become the Joseph F. Ritt Assistant Professor at the same institution from 2019 to 2020. Currently, in 2023, Yi Sun is a Co-Founder at Axiom.

Yi Sun holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which was completed from 2011 to 2016. Before that, Yi completed an M.A.St. with Distinction in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, Yi obtained an A.M. degree in Mathematics from Harvard University, which was completed from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, Yi also holds an A.B. degree from Harvard University, majoring in Mathematics with a secondary field in Economics, completed from 2006 to 2010.
