Stacie Chvatal

Vice President Of Product Management at Axion BioSystems

Stacie Chvatal began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University in 2011. In this role, they investigated the neural control mechanisms governing muscle coordination and functional goals that underlie voluntary movements, to gain insight into the accessibility of muscle synergies by different levels of the nervous system. Stacie also examined differences in motor control in healthy and impaired nervous systems, in both cats and humans, and taught undergraduate engineering courses.

In 2013, Stacie Chvatal joined Axion BioSystems as Director of Product Management. Stacie then moved on to become Senior Product Manager, Bioelectronic Assay Systems, Product Manager, MEA and Optogenetic Systems, and Senior Applications Scientist. In their most recent role as Field Applications Scientist, they helped customers achieve their scientific objectives using Axion’s Maestro multiwell MEA system to study electrophysiological activity in cardiac and neural networks, for a variety of applications including disease modeling, drug discovery, and safety/toxicity. Stacie also provided sales support, including marketing and scientific presentations, product demonstration support, and customer training and support, and developed MATLAB-based software tools to automate data analysis.

Stacie Chvatal completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Mercer University from 2001 to 2005. Stacie then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2005 and 2011.
