Software Engineer at Axion Ray

Nic Fontaine has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Starting from 2012, Nic worked as a Graphic/Web/Social Media Intern at Leadership Asheville, where they managed website maintenance, created event stationary and promo prints, designed newsletters, promoted events on social media, and managed online donation records.

In 2013, Nic joined The Littlest Golfer as a Game Artist, Animator, and Video Editor. They were responsible for 2D mobile game art design, 3D pilot show creation, UI design, character animation, level design, video editing and compositing, and marketing promo design.

In 2014, Nic worked at ThingFace as a Contract UX Designer for a brief period. They then joined Element-360 as a Web Developer and Marketing Designer. In this role, Nic focused on data-driven development and design for real estate marketing. Their responsibilities included developing landing page templates, running A/B testing, managing hosting and analytics, and designing display network ads and email newsletters.

From 2016 to 2023, Nic was employed at Mursion as a Software Engineer. They were involved in bridging software and art for the development, configuration, and delivery of AR/VR simulations. Their work included developing internal tools and customer products in full-stack web and 3D game engine, front-end development and design, API design, technical art scripting, backend pipelines, testing and QA, and technical documentation.

Currently, Nic holds the position of a Software Engineer at Axion Ray.

Nic Fontaine obtained a Bachelor's degree in New Media from the University of North Carolina Asheville, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their degree, Nic has earned several certifications, including "JavaScript: Best Practices for Code Formatting," "JavaScript: Best Practices for Functions and Classes," "Learning Functional Programming with JavaScript ES6+," "Cybersecurity at Work," "GDPR Compliance: Essential Training," "Become a React Developer," "React: Authentication," "Becoming an Ally to All," "Building Modern Projects with React," "Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences," "Dealing with Microaggression as an Employee," "Fighting Gender Bias at Work," "Inclusive Mindset," "React Hooks," "React.js Essential Training," "React.js: Building an Interface," "React: Creating and Hosting a Full-Stack Site," "React: Design Patterns," "React: Software Architecture," and "Skills for Inclusive Conversations." These certifications were obtained in 2022, with various months indicated for each.
