Arika Herron

Arika Herron is a seasoned journalist with a robust background in education reporting, currently serving as a journalist at Axios since March 2023. Prior experience includes roles as an education reporter at The Indianapolis Star and Winston-Salem Journal, where significant coverage on state policies and school district issues, including student safety at bus stops, led to legislative changes in North Carolina. Additional experience includes staff writing focused on business and nonprofit issues at the Greenfield Daily Reporter, and leadership as Editor in Chief at The Butler Collegian. Arika's early career involved internships with the National Federation of State High School Associations and National Geographic Society, alongside writing features for Current Publishing. Arika holds a B.A. in Journalism from Butler University.
