Nicole Cobler

Nicole Cobler is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in local and state reporting. Currently serving as an Austin Reporter for Axios since August 2021, Cobler covers diverse topics including politics, tech, and real estate, and co-launched the Axios Austin newsletter, boosting subscriber numbers through organic engagement. Previous roles include Politics Reporter and Business and Technology Reporter at the Austin American-Statesman, where coverage centered on state politics and the tech industry in Texas. With early career positions at The Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, Texas Tribune, and other notable publications, Cobler has demonstrated a strong ability to report on complex issues, leading to recognition through multiple awards, including national SPJ Mark of Excellence honors.
