Stephen Kernan

Stephen Kernan is a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead at Axios since April 2023 and also serves as Lead Developer at Egghead Studios since September 2023. Previously, Stephen held multiple roles at Balto from November 2020 to April 2023, including Senior Full Stack Engineer, where significant contributions included architecting a new product and championing AWS Aurora for improved database performance. A strong emphasis on mentorship is evident through the establishment of a mentorship framework for junior developers and the creation of a Postgres course. Stephen's earlier experience includes positions as a Full Stack Engineer and Financial Relationship Consultant at Regions Bank. Stephen holds a Bachelor's degree in Bible/Biblical Studies from Harding University, earned between 2014 and 2017.
