Golam Bappi

Golam Bappi is a highly experienced engineer in the field of photonics, currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer at Ayar Labs since January 2021, with previous roles including Senior Engineer and Photonics Test Development Engineer. Bappi's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, a Master of Applied Science in Quantum Information from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. As a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, significant contributions were made to the study of charge carrier processes in quantum dots and the design of photonic crystal gratings. Prior research experience includes work in waveguide modeling at the University of Waterloo and developing automated experimental frameworks for superconducting qubits. Bappi's diverse industry experience encompasses software engineering at BlackBerry QNX, sensor testing at Teledyne DALSA, and research on entangled photon pairs at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique.
