John Fini

John Fini has extensive work experience in the field of optical design and engineering. From 2002 to 2014, they worked at OFS Labs as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. John was responsible for advanced fiber design and modeling, as well as developing tools in Matlab for simulations and analysis. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at Lumentum as a Technical Lead, where they focused on developing next-generation optical receiver components and modeling advanced modulation formats. Since 2016, they have been working at Ayar Labs, first as a Principal Engineer and currently as the Director of Optical Design.

John Fini attended Hunter College High School from 1986 to 1992. John then went on to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1992 to 2001, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering.
