Dan McKelvey

With nearly 40 years of experience in all phases of architecture, Dan McKelvey is a skilled manager who leads projects from program and budget verification through construction. Owing to his extensive background at construction sites, he understands how designs can be translated into functional and buildable plans. His goal for each project is to achieve the highest level of craftsmanship possible, while maintaining project budget and schedule.

Committed to architectural education, Dan has spoken at numerous international and national conferences and academic institutions. He is a member of the National Institute of Building Sciences and the co-founder of the Building Enclosure Council-Baltimore, an organization that brings building professionals together to share ideas and experiences on the built environment. He also developed and manages a formal quality assurance and quality control program for Ayers Saint Gross.

His diligent, research-based architecture and quality control can be seen in projects such as the Rams Head Center at the University of North Carolina, the John and Frances Angelos Law Center at the University of Baltimore, the School of Nursing at Duke University, and the Nelson Harvey and Skip Viragh Buildings at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
