Sipho Mothobi

Sipho Mothobi has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Sipho is currently working at ayoba as the Head of Product, a position they began in January 2023. Prior to this, they were a Senior Product Manager at ayoba from July 2022 to March 2023.

In 2004, Sipho founded intelli{monkeys} technologies and held the role of Founder. From 2019 to 2022, they served as a Senior Product Manager - Africa Regional Office at Absa Group. Before that, they worked at TYME as a Senior Digital Product Manager from December 2017 to November 2018.

Sipho also has experience working at Hollard Insurance as a Senior Digital Portfolio Manager from May 2016 to July 2017. Sipho worked at Vodacom as a Digital & Mobile Product Manager from October 2013 to May 2016, where they managed various digital products and teams.

From October 2010 to September 2013, Sipho held multiple roles at First National Bank, Cellphone Banking Solutions, including Business Development, Product Development Manager, and Product/Channel Manager. Sipho worked at EY as an Assistant Manager from October 2008 to August 2010.

Sipho's earlier experience includes working at Rand Merchant Bank from May 2004 to May 2008, where they served as Technical Lead, Software Architect, Project Manager, Systems & Process Analyst, and Senior Software Developer. Before that, they worked at Ciber Information International Holdings (Pty) Ltd as a Senior Software Development Consultant at Tasima from September 2002 to April 2004.

In 1996 to 1998, Sipho attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computers Science and Applied Mathematics.

Following this, from 1999 to 2000, Sipho pursued further studies at the same university and completed a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science.

In 2007, Sipho attended the University of the Witwatersrand for the Management Advancement Programme, specializing in Business Administration.

Finally, from 2008 to 2009, Sipho attended the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Strategy, Creativity, Innovation, and Group Process Management.
