Cherise Nielsen

Cherise Nielsen has extensive experience in the energy industry, with a focus on power marketing, development, origination, and commercial affairs. Cherise currently holds the position of Vice President of Power Marketing at Aypa Power, where they have been since January 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Development at Aypa Power from August 2020 to January 2021. Before joining Aypa Power, Cherise worked at AltaGas Ltd. as the Director of Origination & Commercial Affairs from January 2019 to August 2020. Cherise also held the role of Director of Power Market Strategy & Operations at AltaGas Service U.S. from January 2016 to December 2018. Cherise began their career at AltaGas in 2008, where they worked as the Manager of Market Operations - Power until December 2015. Prior to joining AltaGas, they served as an Energy Trader at NorthPoint Energy from March 2003 to November 2008.

Cherise Nielsen began their education in 1998 by attending the University of Regina where they completed their Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing in 2003. Cherise furthered their education by pursuing an Executive MBA at the Ivey Business School at Western University from 2012 to 2014.
