Moe Hajabed

Mr. Hajabed is a pioneering member of the energy storage industry with years of corporate and technological development experience.

In 2016, Mr. Hajabed founded NRStor C&I, which became the largest behind-the-meter energy storage developer, owner, and operator in Canada. Mr. Hajabed successfully raised multiple rounds of capital from two major investors, led the company’s expansion into the U.S., and negotiated a groundbreaking partnership with Honeywell – creating the largest C&I battery storage deployment program in the world, and the first performance guarantee product in the energy storage industry. In 2020, Mr. Hajabed led NRStor C&I’s successful acquisition by Blackstone Energy Partners and rebrand as Aypa Power – helping accelerate the company’s growth and expansion into utility-scale development across the North American market.

Prior to leading Aypa Power, Mr. Hajabed served as Senior Vice President with Active Energy, a wholesale natural gas and electricity supplier, where he initiated and led the company’s commercial & industrial business. During his tenure, he successfully completed numerous acquisitions, spearheaded and grew the company’s P&L, and managed a dispersed team across trading, risk management, technology, operations, legal and regulatory, origination, sales and back office functions.

Mr. Hajabed graduated from Queen’s University with a BAS, Engineering Chemistry (First Class Honors), and holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University.
