Sarah Murphy

Project Developer at Aypa Power

Sarah Murphy has a diverse work experience in various industries. Sarah currently works as a Project Developer at Aypa Power, where they prospect for suitable land tracts for solar generation and storage projects and negotiates contract terms with landowners.

Prior to this, Sarah worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas School of Law and as a Climate Corps Fellow at Environmental Defense Fund. Sarah also served as a Senior Student Associate at The University of Texas at Austin's Energy Institute.

Sarah has experience outside the energy sector as well. Sarah worked as a Rescue Transport Coordinator at the City of Austin's Animal Center, where they built a transportation network to send dogs for adoption. Additionally, Sarah has worked at Shell in various roles, including Account Marketer, Supply Chain Analyst, and Contracting & Procurement Intern.

Sarah also gained experience as a Procurement and Sub-Contract Administration Intern at Lockheed Martin and as a Sales Associate at Fleet Feet Sports.

Sarah Murphy completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Supply Chain Management at the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business from 2011 to 2014. In 2013, they also obtained the Ted Bauer Leadership Certificate from the same institution. Additionally, in 2012, they obtained the Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the American Society for Quality.

Recently, in 2021, Sarah obtained the certification of Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar from the Harris County Tax Assessors Office. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Public Affairs with a specialization in Energy Policy at The LBJ School of Public Affairs, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
