Tim Loughnane

Tim Loughnane is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients sectors. Currently serving as the Managing Director of Azelis New Zealand since January 2021, Tim has successfully led the company to become the largest distributor of its kind in the country, culminating in the acquisition of Chemiplas Agencies in 2023, which boosted turnover beyond $200 million. Prior to Azelis, Tim held various leadership roles at Connell, including Regional Director for Asia Pacific and General Manager for Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia, where significant operational improvements and expansions were achieved. Tim's career also includes senior positions at BASF, where notable contributions were made to market development and product innovation, alongside roles at Tru-Test Ltd and Ford Motor Company, focusing on materials engineering and category management. Tim holds a PhD in Materials and Process Engineering, as well as MSc and BSc degrees from The University of Waikato.
