Sean Cantrell

Sean Cantrell is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in automation engineering and product development. Currently serving as Director of Azenta Automation Engineering at Azenta Life Sciences, Sean has been instrumental in transforming sample management through innovative technologies, including the development of an industry-first automated system that significantly reduces personnel needs and the creation of a web-based monitoring portal for cryogenic freezers. Previously, as Director of Engineering at Abeyance Cryo Solutions, Sean led the development of a globally recognized cryogenic preservation product line and implemented engineering processes that enhanced product quality and efficiency. Sean's earlier roles include mechanical engineering positions with notable companies such as Meggitt PLC and NCR Corporation, where Sean managed complex projects and engineered custom solutions. Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
