Shahla Balayeva

Head Of The Department of child-adolescent Health And Occupational Health at Azerbaijan Medical University

Shahla Balayeva is an accomplished professional in public health, currently serving as the Head of the Department of Child-Adolescent Health and Occupational Health at Azerbaijan Medical University since September 1992. In addition to this role, Shahla holds the title of Associate Professor, where lectures cover topics such as physical and psychological development, health conditions, reproductive development, and sexually transmitted infections. Shahla's research focuses on social and working factors affecting the health of working adolescents. Previous roles include serving as a national coordinator for Schools-for-Health from 2015 to 2017 and as a Master Trainer for EngenderHealth and UNICEF, providing training and monitoring health services across Azerbaijan. Educational qualifications include an MD and a PhD in Child and Adolescent Health & Development from Azerbaijan Medical University, complemented by participation in an international training course on sexual and reproductive health.
