Luis Spinola

President & CEO at Azteca-Omega Group

As the Azteca Omega Group’s visionary founder, Luis Spinola has built an award-winning organization through his “can-do” mindset and problem-solving expertise. An engineer by training, he was born and raised in Mexico City and immigrated to the United States in 1983. Luis founded the Azteca Omega group in the late 1980s and has been instrumental in growing the organization for the past 30+ years. Comprised of three operating companies: Azteca Enterprises, Inc., Omega Contracting, Inc., and Omega Steel, LLC., the companies provide program management, construction management, and general contracting services for municipal and federal sectors; as well as commercial construction in aviation, education (K-12 & Universities), historical renovation, hospitality, transportation (including public transportation and civil/heavy highway construction), and sports facilities. AOG’s success is due to Luis’s tenacious ability to forge strong relationships, determined work ethic, attention to detail, and developing strategic partnerships.

Mr. Spinola is also committed to the local construction community and Hispanic community. He has served as past Chairman of the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association, Board Member of the Association of General Contractors (TEXO). Luis is currently a Board Member of Parkland Hospital Foundation and The National Association of Minority Contractors’ Houston Chapter. He was recently named to the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino board of directors. Additionally, he is a Founder and Board member of the Construction Industry Outreach Advisory council. Notably, Luis recognized the need to honor and celebrate the laborer and workers in the industry. He founded the “The Day of the Construction Worker,” an annual event held in both Dallas and Houston which celebrates the day-to-day people who often go unrecognized on job sites. Luis continues to pay-it-forward as a relentless and dedicated mentor to several small and minority construction companies in the DFW area.
