Dr. Laurel Brown serves as an Assistant Professor in the Master of Social Work Program at Azusa Pacific University since August 2021. Previously, Dr. Brown was the Social Work Program Director and an Assistant Professor at Whittier College from September 2018 to August 2021, and held the position of Title IX Coordinator at La Sierra University from September 2016 to July 2018. Additional roles include Adjunct Faculty at La Sierra University and various leadership positions in public social services, including Deputy Director for the County of Riverside. Dr. Brown earned a Ph.D. in Social Policy and Social Research from Loma Linda University and a Master of Social Work from the State University of New York - System. Courses taught include Micro Practice and Macro Practice at the undergraduate level.
