Andres Lugo is the Wines Director at B. Fernandez & Hnos. Andres has over 19 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.
Andres started their career at V. Suarez & Co., Inc. in March 2000 as a District Supervisor for Hotel & Restaurant Accounts. Andres quickly rose through the ranks and became responsible for managing and mentoring a team of four representatives. In this role, they oversaw the distribution of a portfolio of over five hundred brands, ranging from alcoholic beverages to food and tabletop items.
In January 2014, Andres moved to Stansfeld Scott - USA as their Area Manager for the Caribbean. In this role, they were responsible for designing, presenting, launching, tracking, and responding to marketing strategy guidelines and team’s sales performance. Andres also planned, forecasted, and executed the region's business plan, looking to expand distribution, increase visibility, and solidify brand positioning for long-term success.
Andres has been instrumental in launching several national account and corporate programs throughout their career. Andres is also an experienced events coordinator, having successfully hosted and evaluated numerous special events designed to increase sales, such as Winemaker Dinners, Seasonal Programs, Cooperative Advertising, among others.
In addition to their sales and management experience, Andres is also a certified wine educator. Andres designed and led El Hórreo de V. Suárez’ Wine Education Program, which covers topics such as consumer education, account staff training, and internal staff development. The program has been successful in contributing an average of five hundred new customers a year to the retail venue of the company.
Andres Lugo is a proven leader with a track record of success in the food and beverage industry. Andres is currently using their skills and experience to help grow the wine business at B. Fernandez & Hnos.
Andres Lugo's educational career includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Universidad Interamericana, a Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from UPR-Carolina, and certifications from The Court of Master Sommeliers in Certified Sommelier and Society of Wine Educators in Certified Specialist on Wine.
They work with Juan M. Colón - VP, Operations, Mario Somoza - President, and Marco Teixidor - New Business Director. Andres Lugo reports to José Teixidor, CEO.
