Sanofar J. Abdeen

Associate Director, R&D Custom Reagents at B2S Life Sciences

Sanofar J. Abdeen is a scientist and research associate who has worked in the field of medical science for over six years. After completing their undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, they worked as a research assistant at the Indiana University School of Medicine for two years. There, they helped design and execute studies on small molecule inhibitors with the aim of developing new anticancer and antimicrobial therapies.

In 2014, they began their doctoral studies at Indiana University, where they focused on chaperonin proteins and their potential role in cancer treatment. Sanofar also researched the potential of using small molecule inhibitors to treat glycogen storage diseases. During their time at Indiana University, they authored several manuscripts and presented their findings at various conferences.

After completing their PhD in 2018, they began working at B2S Life Sciences as an associate director of research and development. In their current role, they oversee research projects and provides guidance to junior scientists. Sanofar is also responsible for designing and synthesizing new probes for pull-down experiments and LC-MS characterization studies.

Sanofar J. Abdeen received their Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry from Wayne State University and their Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Colombo.

They work with Sherri Rinker - Associate Director of Regulated Bioanalysis, Swarna Ramaswamy - Lead Research Scientist, and Vish Chandrahas - Senior Scientist II. Sanofar J. Abdeen reports to Ronald R. Bowsher, Partner & Chief Scientific Officer.
