Katie Hawkes has a strong background in event management. Katie started their career as an Event Services Intern at the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority in January 2007 and progressed to roles such as Event Services Assistant, Event Services Coordinator, and Event Services Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for coordinating events, managing budgets, overseeing sponsorship agreements, and working with marketing teams to promote events. Katie then joined the Boston Athletic Association in January 2018 as a Special Events Manager, where they focused on strategy and development of non-athletic events for race competitors and fans, including the Boston Marathon Expo and VIP hospitality. Katie later became the Director of Brand and Experiential Marketing.
Katie Hawkes obtained their Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from Newbury College. Katie attended this college from 2003 until 2007.

Established in 1887, the Boston Athletic Association is a non-profit organization with a mission of managing athletic events and promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running. While its signature event remains the Boston Marathon, the Boston Athletic Association manages a comprehensive, year-round schedule of events including the B.A.A. Half Marathon and the Boston Mayor's Cup.
