Julia Alvarez

Julia Alvarez is a seasoned engineering professional specializing in marine systems, currently serving as Principal Engineer at Babcock International Group since January 2019. In this role, Julia leads the Marine Systems team and is also the Marine Systems Lead in the Concept Team. Prior experience includes a decade at Thales, where Julia held various roles including Principal Consultant and Senior Consultant within the Naval Design Partnering Team. Julia's earlier career includes positions with Murphy Pipelines as an Engineer, and as Assistant Lecturer at Klaipeda University, teaching fluid mechanics and ship theory. Additionally, Julia served as Structures Lead Engineer for the National Navy of Uruguay. Julia holds a degree in Naval Engineering from Universidad de la República and a Master of Science in Ship Design and Construction from Klaipeda University.
