Ahmad Roumie

Ahmad Roumie has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Chief Technology Officer at BabylonAI (YC W23) since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an AI/CV Lead at AI Retailer Systems from May 2022 to December 2022 and as a Machine Learning and Computer Vision Engineer from November 2020 to April 2022. Ahmad also served as a Computer Vision/Robotic Calibration Consultant (External) at Franke Coffee Systems from March 2022 to September 2022.

Before that, they held the position of Lead Computer Vision Engineer at ETH juniors from March 2020 to September 2022. Ahmad also completed a Master Thesis at Prof. Roland Siegwart's Lab (Autonomous Systems Lab - ASL) at ETH Zürich from February 2020 to August 2020.

As part of their early career, Ahmad worked as a Robotics Software Engineering Intern at GE Inspection Robotics from September 2019 to January 2020. Ahmad also gained teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at ETH Zürich and Duckietown from September 2018 to February 2019.

Furthermore, Ahmad co-founded and served as the VP of the Lebanese Aerospace and Automotive Engineering Society - AUB from September 2017 to August 2018. Ahmad also worked as a Visiting Student Researcher at Szeri Lab at the University of California, Berkeley from June 2017 to September 2017.

Ahmad Roumie completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut from 2014 to 2018. Prior to this, they attended the International School of Choueifat in Lebanon, graduating in 2014. From 2018 to 2020, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Robotics, Systems and Control (RSC) at ETH Zürich. Currently, Ahmad is attending Y Combinator for education purposes, with no specified end year.
