Nick Saul

After a 7 year career at sea as a Navigating Officer on tankers and bulk carriers, Nick returned to academia in 1985, studying Maritime Commerce at Cardiff University. After University, his shore based career began working for Sea Containers, before specialising in ferry operations with Sealink, then Stena Line and Holyman, working in the UK, Ireland, Belgium and Spain. Nick left the ferry world for 4 years working in a niche 5 star cruise operation before returning to ferries to run the services from Scotland to the Orkney and Shetland isles. In 2008, he took on the role of CEO of the Bachmann Marine business before buying out the operation from Peter Bachmann in 2013.

As well as his degree in Maritime Commerce, Nick is a Chartered Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and a member of The Institute of Directors. Nick is also a fully qualified Lead Auditor and DPA & Company Security Officer.

Nick is avid supporter of his childhood football team, Everton, but sadly cannot go to as many matches as he would like, due to living in Guernsey. In his spare time, he is a keen walker and in recent years has undertaken many walks for charity around Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Wight, pushing his completion times for each one.
