George Yates

George Yates has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. George is currently serving as the Head of Strategic Partnerships at Back Market since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the same company as the Global Senior Lead for Brands & Retailers from June 2020 to December 2021.

Before joining Back Market, George worked at WeWork as an Enterprise team member from November 2017 to May 2020. George also had a role as the CEO and Co-Founder at DeskSpotting Limited, an online marketplace for flexible office space in Europe, from June 2016 to August 2017.

George has experience as a Co-Founder of posto7, a social discovery iOS app, from January 2013 to April 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Partner at SinoAmerican Partners Limited, sourcing and executing opportunities in natural resources and renewable energy in Latin America, from September 2011 to January 2013.

Prior to that, George was a Partner at Teka Capital, a Colombian private equity fund, from October 2009 to December 2011. George also worked as a Director at Aramid Asset Management, a hedge fund focused on the film industry, from 2007 to 2009. Furthermore, they had a role as an Associate at Actis, a private equity fund focused on emerging markets, in the same year.

George Yates completed their Bachelor of Science in Comparative Studies of Latin America and Western Europe at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service from 1997 to 2001. George furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies and Emerging Market Company Valuation at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business from 2005 to 2007.
