Rick Cruz

Rick Cruz is a seasoned multi-unit general manager with extensive experience in the hospitality industry. Currently serving at Backal Hospitality Group since July 2022, Rick oversees operations at a rooftop restaurant event venue near Fashion Avenue and Madison Square Garden. Previous roles include management positions at SBE Restaurant Group, where Rick oversaw multiple venues and orchestrated the opening of Hyde Lounge at T-Mobile Arena, and at Jayde Fuzion under Penn Gaming National, where Rick managed a premier fine dining Asian fusion establishment. Earlier experience includes leadership roles within Emeril Lagasse Restaurant Group and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, enhancing operational excellence across various high-profile dining experiences. Rick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts/Marketing from the School of Visual Arts and a high school diploma in Cartooning and Illustration from Art and Design High School.
