Jonathan Prykop

Jonathan Prykop has extensive work experience in web application development and software development. Jonathan began their career as a Webmaster at DePaul University in 1997 and later joined Wolfram Research, Inc., where they worked as a Web Application Developer from 2001 to 2007. In this role, they were responsible for developing various web and database-driven systems using Perl, XHTML/CSS, MySQL, and Oracle. Jonathan also handled maintenance, evaluation, and redevelopment of outdated systems.

From 2008 to 2015, Jonathan worked as a Web Application Developer at eFatigue.com. Here, they were responsible for full-stack web development, including systems such as a web-based login and file storage, store front and payment gateway interactions, user forum, custom JavaScript components, and mysql database development and administration.

In 2015, Jonathan joined Freeside Internet Services, Inc. as a Software Developer. Jonathan implemented new features and incremental refactoring of a telecommunications billing system using Perl/Postgres on Debian Linux systems. Jonathan also improved the front-end JavaScript interface, built API modules, and revamped credit card processing.

In 2017, Jonathan moved to Home Access Health Corporation, where they worked as a Web Application Developer. Jonathan developed an API for the company database using Ruby on Rails and redesigned a secure test results website using a Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP stack, focusing on security and HIPAA compliance.

Since 2018, Jonathan has been working at Backstop Solutions Group. Jonathan started as a Ruby Programmer and later became a Development Manager. In this role, they manage a team of developers working on legacy and greenfield applications. Jonathan coordinates across teams, assists with product roadmaps, customer support, and dev ops. Jonathan also helps create continuous deployment processes using Jenkins, Gitlab, and a HashiCorp stack.

Jonathan Prykop received their High School Diploma from Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in 1997. Jonathan then went on to attend DePaul University from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Theatre Studies.
