Camden Hanzlick-Burton

Camden Hanzlick-Burton has a diverse work experience in the education field. In 2021, they began working as the Associate Director of Onboarding and Coaching and Senior Manager of Professional Learning at Digital Promise. In 2018, they became the Lead Curriculum Developer at Backyard Brains, where they developed phenomenon-based neuroscience units aligned to NGSS and 3-dimensional learning, as well as facilitated ongoing teacher professional development. Also in 2018, they began hosting the podcast "Don't Pee on Your Leg and Other Scientific Misconceptions". From 2015-2018, they worked at Summit Public Schools, a public charter network, as the Manager of Mentoring and Self-Direction, a Science Teacher, and a Curriculum Specialist. In 2012, they were a Biology Instructor at Olathe School District, where they taught freshman general and honors biology, horticulture, and AP Biology, as well as mentored students and coached various clubs. In 2012, they also completed a student teaching role at Blue Valley School District.

Camden Hanzlick-Burton received a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from The University of Kansas in 2012. Camden then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University in 2015. In 2016, they obtained a Washington Teaching Certificate in Secondary Biology from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
