Eric Willis

Eric Willis has a diverse and extensive work experience. Eric is currently the VP of Software at BACtrack, where they have been since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Engineering at Grindr from October 2020 to January 2023.

Before their time at Grindr, Eric held several roles at Flickr, starting as a Principal Software Engineer in October 2013 and working their way up to VP Engineering in May 2018. Eric also had positions as Senior Director of Engineering, Director of Engineering, and Senior Manager at Flickr during their tenure there.

Eric also worked at SmugMug as the VP of Engineering for Flickr from May 2018 to October 2020. Eric was also Senior Director of Engineering at Yahoo from October 2013 to May 2018. Prior to that, Eric was the Team Leader at Rakuten from January 2010 to May 2012.

Eric co-founded Offbeat Guides in 2007, where they served as the CTO until January 2010. Eric also had a role as an Adjunct Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology from February 2003 to December 2007. Eric co-founded and served as CTO at RareEdge Design Group from January 2002 to September 2007.

Additionally, Eric had a unique role as the Captain of the Ship at LookFlow, a computer vision startup acquired by Yahoo. Eric had this role from May 2012 to October 2013.

Eric Willis attended the Rochester Institute of Technology where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology. Additionally, they furthered their education at the same institution by pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Technology, but was only two credits away from completing the program.
