Jason Goebel, PhD

Jason Goebel, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and academia. Jason is currently employed as a Scientist III at Baebies since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Scientist II at Baebies from May 2022 to April 2023.

Before joining Baebies, Dr. Goebel worked at BASF as an Assay Development and Automation Scientist from June 2021 to May 2022. In this role, they led assay development in a surrogate cell-based assay for pest control and implemented automation using Hamilton Liquid Handling Systems and RetiSoft Genera Scheduling Software.

Dr. Goebel's academic career includes various roles at Purdue University. Jason served as an Instructor of Chemistry from January 2020 to May 2021. During this time, they taught a course-based research experience in biochemistry and was responsible for preparing lectures and leading staff meetings. From October 2017 to December 2020, they worked as a PHD Candidate, conducting research on the structure-function relationship of Human P-glycoprotein. Jason also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant Supervisor from January 2015 to December 2020, overseeing a team of teaching assistants and course supervisors.

At Purdue University, Dr. Goebel also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant from August 2014 to December 2020, collaborating with the Jean Chmielewski lab and conducting investigations on P-glycoprotein. Additionally, they served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2014 to December 2019, mentoring and tutoring students in chemistry and leading investigations in different laboratory settings.

Prior to their postgraduate studies, Dr. Goebel worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Samford University from January 2012 to May 2014. During this time, they synthesized small molecule chirons derived from amino acids and contributed to the development of a genetically modulated neural network.
