Michael Basmajian

Michael Basmajian has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Michael started their career as a Tutor at Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center, where they provided one-on-one and group tutoring to students of all ages. During their time there, they also contributed to the development and testing of new precalculus and calculus curricula.

Next, Michael worked as a Global Strategic Product Management Intern at Ingersoll Rand, where they assisted a five-member team on multiple projects. Michael'smain project involved compiling sales tools, engineering data, and value propositions to create a new generation of sales tools. Michael also administered the global SharePoint site and edited the new hire curriculum.

In 2015, Michael served as a Research Assistant at Duke Biomedical Department - Hoffman Lab. In this role, they improved and executed a micropatterning procedure, which included tasks such as cell culture maintenance, immunocytochemistry, and FRET microscopy. Michael continued producing data throughout the Fall semester as time allowed.

In 2016, Michael joined Baebies, Inc. as an Engineering Intern. During their internship, they worked on various independent projects related to the development of assay formulations, characterization of variability sources, and running validation tests. Michael frequently presented their findings and collaborated with supervisors to identify and address unexpected issues.

Michael continued their journey with Baebies and progressed to the roles of Engineer II (Systems Integration) and Engineer III (Systems Integration). In these positions, they contributed to the development of the FINDER system, a point-of-care digital microfluidic device. Michael'sresponsibilities included identifying integration risks and issues, developing data-driven mitigations, and delivering crucial components such as assay calculation algorithms, electro-fluidic protocols, and automatic flagging algorithms.

Currently, Michael holds the position of Senior Engineer (Systems Integration) at Baebies. As the Systems Integration Lead for the next FINDER panel, they are involved in long-term planning, creative design, and risk management.

Michael Basmajian attended The Loomis Chaffee School from 2009 to 2013. Michael did not receive a degree during this time and their field of study is unknown. From 2013 to 2017, Michael attended Duke University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
