Rafael D.

Rafael D. has a strong background in information technology and telecommunications, with extensive experience in leadership roles. Rafael is currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at BAI Connect, where they manage IS resources and oversees system integrations with third-party vendors. Prior to their current position, Rafael worked at T-Mobile as the Director of Eng Tech Support/PMT, leading the IT Operations team responsible for legacy BSS and value-added platforms. Rafael also played a key role in the integration of PR Wireless systems with T-Mobile.

Before T-Mobile, Rafael held the position of VP Operations & CIO at PR Wireless, Inc. DBA Open Mobile, where they were responsible for the IT infrastructure, BSS, payment processing, and value-added platforms for the wireless brand in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Rafael led the modernization of online services, spearheaded the selection of a new ERP platform, and played a crucial role in the migration of subscribers from Open Mobile to Boost Mobile & Sprint.

Earlier in their career, Rafael worked as a Senior Program Manager at EMC, overseeing the replacement of the BSS platform for Peru and Chile. Rafael also served as a Senior Project Manager/Program Manager at Perficient, where they directed the development and implementation of a new Child Care platform for the State of Georgia.

Rafael's experience includes a role as a Billing & Rating Manager at Disney Mobile, where they managed the technical team responsible for producing wireless bills and process payments. Rafael also played a part in the development of the usage control platform, which received multiple awards for innovation.

Rafael's career began at Cingular Wireless, where they served as a Senior IT Manager for Billing Operations. Rafael provided support for the operation of Cingular Caribbean properties and was responsible for software release management and supporting business critical functional areas.

Prior to Cingular Wireless, Rafael worked at Cable & Wireless as a Senior IT Manager for Billing Operations. In this role, they managed the IT department for the wireless business unit and played a key role in making Cable & Wireless the top wireless operator in Panama by implementing the first GSM network in the country. Rafael also served as a Project Director for the new GSM 850 Customer Care and Billing System.

Rafael D. obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Universidad Tecnológica, where they studied from 1980 to 1988. Later, they pursued their Master's degree in Computer Science from the same university, studying from 1997 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, Rafael D. has also obtained additional certifications, including ITIL® 4 Foundation: Introduction from Skillsoft, Leading and Managing Globally from ExecOnline, Inc., and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, all in the year 2020.
