Kevin Baird is the Managing Partner of Baird Mandalas Brockstedt, LLC, and practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, business law, and corporate law. He enjoys a team-based approach to problem-solving and recognizes the importance of building strong relationships with clients. By investing in client relationships Kevin helps to develop legal strategies that harmonize a client’s long-term goals with their immediate needs. He understands that for many clients, legal services are only one aspect of a larger plan. Kevin, therefore, works carefully to integrate his services into his client’s overall business or life plans to achieve optimal results in both the short and long term.
Kevin has a B.S. in engineering from the University of Buffalo and an M.S. in engineering from Virginia Tech. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law with honors in 2002. Kevin began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Sue L. Robinson in the United State District Court for the District of Delaware. As a law clerk, he was exposed to many areas of complex litigation involving some of the world’s largest companies. After his clerkship, Kevin practiced law in Wilmington at two of the nation’s largest law firms. In 2007, Kevin moved his practice to Dover to focus on local practice and to spend more time with his wife and children.
Kevin spends substantial time developing estate plans for a diverse range of clients from new couples with young families to individuals with substantial wealth and special health needs. He also enjoys working with entrepreneurs forming new business and advises on corporate governance and business-succession planning. In addition to his estate-planning practice, Kevin also spends considerable time representing fiduciaries administering estates or trusts.
Kevin’s diverse legal background helps him appreciate the complex nature of a client’s issues and he enjoys looking for creative solutions to problems. He strives to provide clients with large-firm service and sophistication statewide.
